Stamp Out Hunger - leave food at your mailbox on Saturday

Tampa, Florida --  The U.S. Postal Service and its letter carriers ask Tampa residents to join them and the rest of the nation in combating one of the U.S' growing problems, hunger, by leaving food at your mailboxes on Saturday, May 12. 

According to USPS, this one-day food drive is the nation’s largest single-day food drive across America — including Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

On Thursday, May 17 from 6 - 8 p.m., the commission will meet to discuss the plan in detail. 

The meeting agenda includes:

  • Presentation by Tampa Fire Rescue
  • SPOT Analysis performed by attendees

Night lane closures on westbound Selmon Expressway:

One lane will be closed on the westbound Selmon Expressway (SR 618) from 22nd Street to Morgan Street from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. This sarted Sunday, April 29, and will last through Thursday May 3.
