Busch Gardens welcomes first baby giraffe of 2012 | News
Tampa, FL -- Busch Gardens welcomed its newest edition and first baby reticulated giraffe of the new year on Jan. 27.

The new female was born on the Serengeti Plain measuring 6'2" tall, and weighing in at approximately 176 pounds.
Busch Gardens reports the new mother and baby are currently in an area out of guests' view so they can be closely monitored by zoo staff to ensure the baby is nursing and growing properly.
This new addition brings in the park's reticulated giraffe population to 19.
