Moffitt Healthy Kidz Program distributes 'On the Move' Backpacks | Families
Tampa, Florida-- On Tuesday, June 5, Moffitt Cancer Center's Moffitt Healthy KIDZ Program will combat the obesity epidemic by distributing 1,000 FREE “On the Move” backpacks to pre-k, kindergarten and first grade students in HIllsborough County.
According to a recent release, this will be the center's first installment of the "On the Move" backpacks, and they will be filled with jump ropes, frisbees, collapsible hula hoops, water bottles, beach balls, sunscreen, growth charts and crayons.
The program will distribute the backpacks at The Richardson Montessori Academy, 6815 N. Rome Ave.
According to the release:
"The Moffitt Healthy KIDZ Program is a five-week educational series addressing topics such as fruits and vegetables, fun fitness, sun protection and dangers of tobacco.
Children at The Richardson Montessori Academy will receive the “On the Move” backpacks following the completion of the program to help foster the continuation of healthy living."
According to their website, "Moffitt Healthy KIDZ has provided this curriculum to more than 1,000 children from the Hillsborough County Head Start/Early Head Start Centers, Schools and the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative"
