Trial delayed for man accused of throwing baby onto I-275

TAMPA, Florida - The trial of a man accused of kidnapping his girlfriend's infant son and then throwing him out of a speeding car has been pushed back.

Richard McTear is charged with the death of 3-month-old Emanuel Murray. Investigators say McTear threw the baby from his car onto Interstate 275 near Fowler Avenue in early May, 2009.

On Wednesday, the judge said McTear's trial will not happen until some time in 2013. Several penalty phase motions were also filed, which the judge is expected to rule on either Thursday or Monday.

Friends: Bayshore crash victim taken off life support

Tampa, Florida -- Friends say Michael Agana's family has taken him off life support, days after his car crashed through the wall along Bayshore Blvd. and into Hillsborough Bay.

According to posts on Facebook pages created by friends and family, Michael Agana's family planned to remove him from life support around midnight Tuesday night.

Multiple friends posted afterward that the 19-year old USF freshman had passed away.

Dump truck crashes into I-75 overpass

Tampa, Florida -- Just before 3 a.m. a dump truck heading east on Fletcher Avenue forgot to lower his bed and crashed into the I-75 N overpass.

The crash shut down east bound traffic on Fletcher Avenue for a couple of hours. The driver was taken to the hospital with neck and back injuries.

Residents can apply for Citizen Boards and Councils

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Hillsborough County Commissioners are seeking residents to serve on several County citizen advisory boards and councils.

Residents interested in seeking appointment must be registered voters in Hillsborough County.

These are voluntary positions, and members serve without compensation. Applicants may apply to more than one board, but may only serve on one board at a time.

The deadline for applying is June 14, 2012. Appointments will be scheduled for a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners in July 2012.
